A native of Cuba, her profound understanding extends beyond the cultural, economic, and political landscapes of the U.S. to include Latin America and the Caribbean. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Ms. Marcelo previously contributed her legal expertise at The Law Office of Jan P. Weiss, PA, specializing in Immigration Law for three years and Rodriguez-Diaz & Marcelo, PA.
An immigrant herself, Ms. Marcelo arrived in the United States a decade ago to pursue her dream of becoming an attorney in a country where the rule of law is revered. Her personal immigrant experience enhances her empathetic connection with the upbringing and struggles of fellow immigrants. Before her U.S. journey, Ms. Marcelo practiced law in Cuba and served as a university law professor for over a decade. Her legal education encompasses both common and civil law systems, providing her with a distinctive ability to advise clients on legal matters involving diverse jurisdictions, legal systems, and cultures.
Graduating Cum Laude from Nova Southeastern University in May 2019 and passing the Florida Bar in July of the same year, Ms. Marcelo’s academic achievements were recognized with multiple Dean’s recognitions and scholarships. During her student years, she actively contributed as a member of the Board of the Foreign Lawyers Association of Nova (FLAN)
